Hello all,

Hope your week is well so far.

Today I am posting a card that I created from a blog challenge. The link for the challenge is
http://stamplorations.wordpress.com/2013/09/06/holiday-papercrafting-challenge/

I used black, red and cream for this card. It is the first time I have ever incorporated black into a Christmas card.

I embossed the ornaments, added some bling and this is what happened! LOL!

Thank you for looking

Happy Crafting until next time!!

Happy Tuesday all!

So are we crafting large this week? What are some projects your working on? Let me know.

Today I am sharing a simple fall card that I made. Fall is my favorite time of the year, the air is cool, the colors are rich and deep, so I decided to try and capture that in a card.

I used a prism stamp pad which had some fabulous fall colors, a leaf stamp, a sentiment, some twine and a button and here is the end result.

If you have any questions let me know.

Happy Crafting,

Gina

Hope everyone had a great holiday weekend!

Today I am sharing a fun Halloween card. The background is sponged in blues and purples. I used a wavy edge to get the cloud effect. I also dabbed a bit more purple toward the bottom for a twilight look. I used a 1 inch circle mask for the moon and colored that in with glitter smooch.  The kids are from a wheel that I got from Stampin up a while back.

Enjoy!

If you have any questions let me know, I will be more than happy to answer.

As always, happy crafting!

Hello Fellow Crafters!

I hope you are all enjoying your long holiday weekend. I have made a couple of easy Halloween cards and wanted to share them with you.  If you have any questions let me know.

The card above is super easy. I used a DSP I picked up last season at Michaels and covered the front of the entire card. I cut a black solid card stock and a green solid card stock to put behind my "frankie". I added some ribbon and cut a foam sticker that said Boo. Easy. I left edges on "frankie" I thought it gave him a rougher look.

I have been wanting to try the flag tails for a while. As you can see they are a bit off on the last two. I tried to use a square punch, I found it a little awkward at first but by the time I got to the long one I was way better. Plain white card stock, three pieces of DSP cut at a inch wide and 2 inches and a 1/2 inch smaller on each one after.  added a sparkly pumpkin sticker, cut a greeting from a piece of DSP that I bought a couple years ago and here you go!

Everyone have a safe and happy weekend. See you soon.

Until then, Happy Crafting!

Good Afternoon fellow crafters,

Today I am sharing another sticky note holder that I made for my friend Desiree. She is a Halloween fanatic. So, I thought this would be delightful on her desk.

I used heavy weighted card stock and cardboard in the middle. Gave it a nice flexible front and back. Covered in DSP stamped a sentiment did a little embossing, stuck a skull on, added a glue dot to stick the spider and voila.. here it is.

Happy Crafting!

Total Tip Tuesday

Good Morning and happy Tuesday!! Time for a tip....
Sponges, I forget to buy them some times and I won't throw them away.. so what I do is throw them in a cheapy (dollar store) lingerie bag and throw them in the wash with my jeans. So far (knock on wood) Ink doesn't stain my jeans and they wash fairly well. I have done it twice and am still using them. Saves a dime or two. see you tomorrow, until then happy crafting.

Fabulous Friday

Hello all.. and of course happy FRIDAY!!! Yes it is the weekend, finally!

I have been in the craft room getting some things together that I like to give as gifts. When seasons come I try to find inspiration and give gifts that reflect the changes happening around us. (Halloween counts as fall)

I have made a couple of sticky note holders for my mom and a good friend.

Unfortunately, I did not measure, this is a project that I went by the seat of my pants with. (I usually do).

Let me know what you think...

Enjoy and happy Crafting!

Total Tip Tuesday

Monday Mania!

Hello all, hope your Monday is going well... or at least going.

Today I tried something a bit different, I used some DSP a couple of punches and here we go...

Supplies

Black Staz On Ink
Versa Mark
1 inch circle punch
white gel pen
red jelly roll glitter pen
orange jelly roll glitter pen
piece of DSP  (cut at your desired width)
Stampin Up! stamp set- Booglie Eyes
dimensionals
pink embossing powder from zing
heat tool

I stamped the spider three times on a sheet of white cardstock and colored him with the jelly roll gel pens. The spiders were punched out at different angles to make them seem like he is moving around the card. Before I added the gel pen for the white web lines, I positioned the circles flat on the card and drew the white lines. I popped the circles up on dimensionals a little above where the line starts.

I stamped the word Boo at the bottom of the page in versa mark and used a hot pink zing embossing powder to add some color to the card.

This is the completed card

Hope you enjoyed. If you have any questions please, shoot me an email I will be more than happy to respond. Take care!

Happy Stamping!

Simple Stamp Sunday

Hello all, can you believe we are back to Sunday again? I can't. I have been diligently spending time in my craft room and using the supplies that I have.

Since I made the decision to use it or lose it, I have found more "cute" paper,  "fabulous" new ink colors or some new tool that seems to be a must have.  However, I am staying focused and as one could say "using it or losing it"!

On that note....

Todays card is a one layer simple stamp card. The supplies are as follows

A2 card
Chocolate Chip Ink (image/sponging around the edges)
Cherry Cobbler Ink (word)

That's it!

Thank you for checking it out and hope you enjoy your week!

Happy Stamping!

Simple Scrap Saturday!

Today I decided it was time to start focusing on fall projects, so going forward for the next couple weeks I will be posting all things fall from my craft room.

6x6 mini albums are my favorite, they are the perfect size for my purse, desk or at home on a end table. I started one today and will update you as we move along.  Here we go.

I chose a rust and kraft color to start the first pages of my book. These are cut at 6x6

I like to really jazz up the first page since it is the introduction to the book. The picture mat is cut at 5 1/4 x 4 1/4 inches. I added a journaling spot which is cut at 2 x 3 1/4 inches.  I used DCWV paper four rust colored brads and a bling sticker from Michaels to dress the page up.

I rounded all of the corners at a 1/2 inch with my corner chomper

The edges are all inked with Stapin up chocolate chip. This seems to give it a more rustic appeal.  I am using Stampin UP! Designer series paper (DSP) which was retired a couple of years ago.

Page two is the back of the first page which is 6x6, picture mat cut at 4 x 4 inches, the journaling spot is cut at 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches I added a leaf brad to keep the fall theme going.

This page is also 6 x 6, picture mat is 4 x 4 inches and the journaling spot is also 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches. I cut a chocolate chip colored paper at 2 x 3 inches angled, I used some copper color brads and a leaf brad to add dimension. The journaling tag is taped at the bottom so the picture you use would sit behind it.

The total time spent on these pages was approximately 35 minutes. These books are easy as long as you keep it simple. Look for more pages next week. Thanks for looking if you have any questions, please e-mail me I will be happy to reply.

Happy Scrappin!

Watercolor Wednesday!

Today I decided to post a card I made using a water color brush.

This card is an A2  card, it is cut at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches.

Supplies are :

Stampin UP! card stock - Kraft and Close to Cocoa
Water Color Paper from Michaels
Stampin UP! Ink - Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa, Only Orange, Pumpkin Pie, Yo Yo Yellow, Ruby Red, Kraft and Sunny Yellow.
Nestabilities - Largest Oval (from original oval set)
Cuttlebug
Foam Squares
Airondack Color Wash Spray - Espresso
Spray - I made it with Bronze Eye Shadow
Corner Punch - Ticket Cut

I inked the edges of the Card with Chocolate Chip Ink, punched the edges with a ticket punch on the bottom.
Second layer cut a 1/4 inch smaller and Inked the edges with Craft Ink, sprayed with Bronze sparkle spray. I let that settle a couple seconds and then gave a quick spray of the Espresso.
I used four foam squares to adhere the oval to the card, stamped the bottom with a sentiment and done.

The inside was a die cut I made from the Cricut Craft Room. I cut it at 3.75 inches.

I hope you enjoy, any questions, please let me know.

Thank you for visiting.

Gina-

I am sharing today a couple of get well cards that I made. Easy Peasy! any questions let me know.

Total Tip Tuesday!

Hello fellow Crafters and Happy Tuesday!

I have been playing with Paper Tape for a while and couldn't decide if I liked it or not. The reason? Well mostly I am not too inspired by the designs. So, a couple of days ago I made a wonderful discovery. Surgical Tape, or Paper Bandage Tape. Hooray!

I keep a roll in my craft room for quick fixes, cuts, nicks and other assorted crafting related injuries. As I was sitting at my desk an epiphany occurred..BING!!!!! stamp on the tape... just do it... try it... and I did. I cut a piece of paper the size I would use for a card and there started my journey on making my own, affordable paper tape.

You can pick this tape up at the dollar store, it removes easy and if you stretch it a bit it gets a completely different look after stamping.

There you have it, something simple, affordable and fun! Let me know if you try it! Post your pics would love to see your ideas!

Monday, July 29, 2013

After a day of ripping and running, I was able to sit down and make a couple of cards. Both are A2 sized. The first one I stamped a back ground of oranges and yellows, over laid with some bats and moons in purple. Stamped the skeleton in black and here we are. Oh, I typed some Halloween words and printed them, covered them with a wide surgical tape. (My idea of a card tape) ;)
The second card is also a2 sponged the background with similar colors and layered it up. If you have any questions let me know.
Have been in the craft room for the last couple hours. Will update with pics soon. :)

Simple Stamp Sunday

Today I was inspired by a new crafting friend to try one layered cards. Clean And Simple (CAS). I find this to be super challenging because I like to add do dads to everything. Glitter, rhinestones, bows, brads... yeah you get it. So I am going to post the items used and a couple of pics of the card I made today.

The inks that follow are in the order that I used them, I will do my best to describe what I did.. (Inks are distressed inks by Tim Holtz and stamps are Stampin UP.)
Sponged Layer 1 - Burlap
Stamped Layer 2 - Vintage Photo (Oriental Painting)
Stamped Layer 3 - Wild Honey (Artisitc etchings)
I colored the little bird with a blue water color pencil and blended with a blender pen.
I stamped the word amour in withered fence and stamped off to give the faded look of the word below the bold one.  There you have it.

IF you have any questions let me know! Thanks for looking

Some people say back in the saddle, well I say back in the craft room again. I have been out of sync for a couple months and am back, with a flourish!
Craft room together, designs in place, etsy store open! What more could I ask for. Not much. SO without to much blah blahing here are a couple cards I put together.
